A sample form of a basic supplier or vendor code of conduct, sometimes called supplier or vendor standards, prepared by a product retailer. Codes of conduct set out the minimum requirements regarding fair and safe labor and environmental practices that manufacturers, suppliers, and other vendors must meet to sell goods to or do business with the retailer. These policies are an important part of a retailer's commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and environmental, social, and governance (ESG). This Standard Document is a basic form and does not aim to cover all aspects of CSR or ESG. This Standard Document has integrated drafting notes with important explanations and drafting tips.
