A Practice Note discussing the franchise disclosure, filing, and recordkeeping requirements in Florida relating to the franchise disclosure document (FDD) that franchisors must provide to prospective state franchisees. This Note addresses the scope of Florida law and its interaction with the Franchise Rule, the federal law governing franchises in the US. This Note also includes a discussion of the definition of a franchise in Florida and the application of the state business opportunity law.
