This note provides an overview of the package of reforms to the Basel framework that the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) expected its members to implement by 1 January 2023. The BCBS refers to these reforms as the final Basel III standards, although some commentators refer to them as "Basel 3.1" or "Basel IV".
