Charge-capping measures applying to defined contribution (DC) occupational pension schemes came into force on 6 April 2015, with the aim of protecting members from high costs and charges. This practice note outlines the requirements for trust-based schemes, introduced by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and set out in the Occupational Pension Schemes (Charges and Governance) Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/879), and considers related developments.
