Litigants often seek ways to efficiently review electronically stored information (ESI) in discovery, and email threading tools organize email messages so that reviewers can review all messages from the same conversation (or thread) together and in context. This Practice Note addresses the use of email threading technology in both document review and production, and explains the limits of this approach.
