Commission imposes fines on members of industrial bags cartel | Practical Law

On 30 November 2005, the European Commission announced that it has fined 16 firms a total of EUR290.71 million for operating an illegal cartel in the plastic industrial bags market. The cartel participants were found to have infringed Article 81(1) of the EC Treaty by fixing prices, agreeing sales quotas, sharing customers, exchanging confidential information and rigging bids.
