ASX

A shortened form representing (as the context requires):
  • The Australian Securities Exchange, which is the primary Australian securities exchange that facilitates public trading of issued financial products (including shares) of participating companies. Public companies that wish to have their shares or other securities able to be publicly traded will usually undertake an initial public offering (IPO) to be admitted to the official list and have their securities quoted on the ASX.
  • ASX Limited, the market operator.
