Most of this Practice note sets out the historic position of Glastir but it may be still be relevant for existing schemes.
Note: The UK left the EU on 31 January 2020. Agriculture is a devolved matter. The Agriculture (Wales) Act 2023 (AWA 2023) received Royal Assent on 17 August 2023. The AWA 2023 is split into six parts and provides a new statutory framework for agricultural policy in Wales based on Sustainable Land Management ("SLM"). The principal proposed delivery mechanism for SLM will be the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS) (which will replace the Basic Payment Scheme and other EU-agri-environment support schemes). For more information on the AWA 2023, see Practice note, Agriculture (Wales) Act 2023. For more information on SFS, see Practice note, Transition to Sustainable Farming Scheme (Wales).
