A short form clause for inclusion in a commercial or retail lease, where the tenant's obligation to pay rent abates for the period that the tenant's use of, or access to, the premises is restricted by a mandatory government health and safety order in response to the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. The clause contains optional wording for application to other epidemic or pandemic diseases.
