This note considers the issues arising on the bulk transfer of members' accrued pension rights from occupational pension schemes. It covers the statutory provisions allowing bulk transfers without consent, including provisions that came into force in April 2018 relating to bulk transfers between defined contribution schemes without consent, and other issues that trustees considering a bulk transfer will need to take into account.
