This note considers the impact of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues on the work of employment lawyers, with particular focus on the "S" (social aspect) which has gained prominence in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and growing demands for employers to act responsibly and purposefully. This includes diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and diversity reporting, health and wellbeing, employee engagement, pay and pay gap reporting and climate-conscious policies.
