A Checklist of steps a judgment creditor must take to domesticate a foreign money judgment in a California state court. This Checklist covers domesticating a sister state judgment using the procedures in the California Sister State Money-Judgments Act (SSMJA) or by commencing a new action, and domesticating a judgment from another country by commencing an action under California's version of the Uniform Foreign Money-Judgment Recognition Act (UFMJRA). This Checklist also addresses domesticating a federal court judgment from another state by registration in a federal district court in California.
