An overview of the regulatory regime for the collection and processing of personal information by mobile applications (apps) in China. It discusses enforcement activities against non-compliant apps, compliance requirements, and the consequence of violating personal information rules by apps. The Note also provides practical guidance for app operators to mitigate the risks for breaching personal information protection requirements.
