A note on the cyclical renewal of EU institutions' mandates and the corresponding appointment of high-level EU officials, such as the Presidents of the European Commission, European Parliament, European Council and European Central Bank (ECB), as well as the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The process begins every five years with elections to the European Parliament. The next elections are 6 to 9 June 2024.
