State Immigration Administration (SIA) (国家移民管理局)
A government agency manged by the
Ministry of Public Security
(MPS).
The SIA's responsibilities include:
Formulating and implementing immigration policies.
Supervising border control.
Regulating foreigners' entry and stay in China.
Managing foreigners who illegally enter, stay or work in China.
Repatriating illegal immigrants.
Controlling Chinese citizens' exit and entry for private purposes.
Engaging in affairs concerning international immigration agreements.

The SIA is also externally known as the Exit and Entry Administration Bureau (出入境管理局) when exercising exit and entry control functions.
