Ejusdem generis

A Latin term literally meaning "of the same kind".
This is a common law principle for construing legislation. A syntactical presumption may be made that a general word that appears at the end of a list of specific words, forming a class or genus, is limited by the words that appear in that class or genus. Other common syntactical presumptions are expressio unius est exclusio alterius and generalia specialibus non derogant.
