Indorsement
A signature that alone or accompanied by other words is made on a security certificate in registered form or on a separate document for the purpose of:
Assigning or granting a power to assign the security.
Transferring or granting a power to transfer the security.
Redeeming or granting a power to redeem the security.
This term is often used in pledge agreements in connection with delivery of collateral to a secured party. It should not be confused with an endorsement, a term which may be used in advertising and politics.
