Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) (商务部)
A central government ministry sitting under the State Council to oversee areas including domestic and foreign trade, foreign direct investment, Chinese outbound investment and international economic co-operation.
MOFCOM's responsibilities include:
Formulating administrative regulations and policies.
Supervising the compliance of the information reporting obligation performed by foreign investors and foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs).
Performing national security reviews regulated under China's M&A legislation.
