Centralized Reservation System (CRS)

A computerized database system commonly used by hotels and lodging facilities that allows potential customers to view room availability, rates, discounts and other marketing information through various mediums in real time.
Using a centralized reservation system allows hotel managers to efficiently store and distribute information from one single system. It allows them to upload room rate information and availability to distribution and sales channels, including online, mobile and conventional travel agencies using one platform.
The data gathered from a centralized reservation system is used to produce daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports detailing the hotel's performance.
One of the benefits of a branded hotel management or franchise arrangement is the typically strong and established centralized reservation system that the brand brings.
