A Practice Note explaining how to produce electronically stored information (ESI) and hard copy documents in response to a Federal Rule of Civil Procedure (FRCP) 34 request for the production of documents (RFP) or an FRCP 45 subpoena. This Note summarizes the rules that govern document productions, as well as concepts counsel should consider when planning for and engaging in document discovery, such as phased production, production format, and production organization.
