A review of key legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments that affected natural gas pipeline projects in 2019, including litigation relating to states' authority to review these projects under the Clean Water Act and pipeline developers' exercise of eminent domain authority to take possession of state-owned and privately-owned property, Trump Administration proposals to limit the environmental review of these projects, and dissent within the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission with respect to its mandate and the factors it should consider when reviewing these projects. This Article also provides an update on key pipeline projects, including the Atlantic Coast Pipeline, the Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline, the Constitution Pipeline, and Nexus Transmission Pipeline.
