A Practice Note discussing the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the voter-approved California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (CPRA) (collectively, CCPA). This Note explains the requirements for receiving, verifying, and responding to CCPA consumer rights requests, including new and updated requirements imposed by the CPRA amendments to the CCPA and expected regulations. This Note also provides guidance and suggestions for setting up a CCPA consumer rights response program.
