by Practical Law Intellectual Property & Technology
The US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) further extended certain patent and trademark-related deadlines to June 1, 2020 under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).
On April 29, 2020, the USPTO announced further extensions to certain patent and trademark deadlines under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), which grants the USPTO temporary authority to toll, waive, adjust, or modify timing deadlines due to COVID-19. This announcement supersedes the previously released March 31, 2020 notice. The time to file certain documents and to pay certain required fees, which otherwise would have been due between March 27 and May 31, is now extended to June 1, 2020.
