During the past decade, V&E’s Labor and Employment practice has represented foreign and domestic clients in numerous employment litigation and labor matters (in over thirty countries) on almost every continent, including multinational transactions and advocating for clients in foreign and domestic courts, including the Supreme Court of Venezuela. We have a particular emphasis on labor and employment law in the U.K and have a prior U.K. solicitor in our labor and employment group in the U.S.

V&E has acted as principle legal advisor to many national and global companies in designing, implementing, updating, and petitioning for judicial enforcement of their dispute resolution programs (DRPs). We have particular experience and expertise related to enforcing the mandatory arbitration components of DRPs and in litigating employment claims in arbitrations. We do this work on a national basis and most recently have appeared in New York, California, Louisiana, Arizona, and West Virginia.

V&E’s familiarity with the nuances of restrictive covenant law can assist clients in the courtroom. When an employer’s confidential information is threatened, a motion to enforce a non-competition agreement, or otherwise protect proprietary materials can become a “bet-the-company” case. We act swiftly and thoroughly to protect our clients, obtaining many injunctions, restraining orders, and settlement agreements that prevent employees or former employees from breaching their non-competition and non-solicitation obligations. We have recently handled such matters in Texas, Kansas, Louisiana, and Canada.

Our labor and employment partners have been involved in collective bargaining throughout the nation and most recently in New York, California, Florida, Washington, and Alabama. V&E has decades of experience advising management on legal issues involved in union organizational campaigns. We provide training on the legal issues in union matters for managers and supervisors; defend representation petitions before the National Labor Relations Board; represent management in unfair labor practice investigations and trials, corporate campaigns, and decertification proceedings; and offer guidance on labor relations during mergers and acquisitions. We have represented clients in union matters including charges of unfair labor practices throughout the country and we have been engaged in labor arbitration matters on a national basis including New York and Texas.
