Chapter 13 Trustee

The bankruptcy trustee assigned to administer a Chapter 13 case. The Chapter 13 trustee's role is to evaluate an individual's Chapter 13 bankruptcy case and to act as a disbursing agent by collecting payments from the debtor or by using payroll deduction and making distributions to creditors. In some jurisdictions a standing trustee is appointed by the US Trustee to administer all Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases in that jurisdiction. Otherwise, the US Trustee appoints a disinterested person to serve as the Chapter 13 trustee or the US Trustee may serve as the Chapter 13 trustee.
