The US Copyright Office has issued a final rule amending its regulations to set a fee for correcting inaccuracies in the Office’s online Public Catalog resulting from errors in electronic title lists of 100 or more titles at a rate of $7 per corrected title.
On October 30, 2014, the US Copyright Office issued a final rule amending regulations for submitting electronic title lists of 100 or more titles by setting a fee for corrections to these title lists at a rate of $7 per corrected title (79 Fed. Reg. 68622-01 (Nov. 18, 2014)). The final rule amends 37 CFR part 201. This final rule takes into account comments received from the Copyright Office’s first proposal of the rule in September 2014.
For more information on the final rule concerning the processing of electronic title lists, see Legal Update, Copyright Office Adopts Final Rule on Changes to Recordation Practices.
The rule will take effect on December 18, 2014.
