To help companies comply with US export regulations, sanctions and restrictions, the US Department of Commerce (Commerce) has launched a tool to search the Consolidated Screening List (CSL), a streamlined collection of nine different screening lists maintained by Commerce and the US Departments of State and Treasury.
On November 20, 2014, the US Department of Commerce (Commerce) launched a search tool to help companies comply with export regulations, sanctions and restrictions. The tool allows a company to determine if it may enter into a transaction with a foreign person or entity by searching the federal Consolidated Screening List (CSL). The CSL is a streamlined collection of the following nine screening lists that contain the names of foreign individuals and entities with whom US companies are not permitted to do business:
  • The Denied Persons List.
  • The Entity List.
  • The Foreign Sanctions Evaders List.
  • The International Traffic in Arms Regulations Debarred Parties List.
  • The Nonproliferation Sanctions List.
  • The Palestinian Legislative Council List.
  • The Sectoral Sanctions Identifications List.
  • The Specially Designated Nationals List.
  • The Unverified List.
These lists are maintained by Commerce and the US Departments of State and Treasury. Combining the lists into the CSL is part of President Obama's Export Control Reform initiative (ECR). A more comprehensive search tool is scheduled to be released in January 2015.
