Leases: offer back clause

Maintained, England, Wales
An offer back clause requiring the tenant to offer to surrender the lease to the landlord as a pre-condition to the tenant being permitted to apply for consent to assign the lease.
The standard clause is drafted to fit into standard document leases offered by Practical Law Property but can also be adapted for use in other leases. It is assumed that the lease will be excluded from sections 24 to 28 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
