International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc.

Commonly referred to as ISDA®. The primary trade association for participants in the over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives market. Chartered in 1985, the organization was originally known as the International Swaps Dealers Association. Today ISDA has more than 830 member institutions from 57 countries. Members include major financial institutions, private businesses, government entities, law firms, and other interested parties. ISDA is the publisher of the ISDA® Master Agreement and other related documents, definitions, and protocols for bilateral swap transactions, as well as certain documents designed to be used for cleared derivatives transactions in the regulatory era (see Practice Note, ISDA® Documents: Overview (US)).
