Nasdaq Stock Market (Nasdaq)

Nasdaq is the largest electronic screen-based equity securities market in the US, both in terms of number of listed companies and traded share volume per day. The companies listed on Nasdaq include companies from all areas of business, including technology, retail, communications, financial services, transportation, media and biotechnology.
Companies can list their securities on three distinct Nasdaq markets:
  • The Nasdaq Global Select Market (this tier has the highest initial listing standards for US securities exchanges).
  • The Nasdaq Global Market (formerly called the Nasdaq National Market).
  • The Nasdaq Capital Market (formerly called the Nasdaq SmallCap Market).
Each of the markets has its own initial and continued listing requirements, entry fees, annual fees and fees for listing a new class of securities.
