UNCITRAL has adopted the UNCITRAL Recommendations to assist arbitral institutions and other interested bodies in arbitration under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules 2010.
UNCITRAL requested the secretariat to prepare a revised set of recommendations following the adoption of the 2010 rules, particularly in light of the extended role of the appointing authority under those rules. Following a consultation with numerous arbitral institutions, other bodies and governments, UNCITRAL finalised and adopted the new recommendations at a meeting which took place in New York between 25 June - 6 July 2012.
