John Beechey of Clifford Chance has been elected Chairman of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. He will assume his new role on 1 January 2009 and will serve until 30 June 2012. In the meantime, Carl Salans has been elected to serve as "interim" Chairman from 1 July 2008 to 31 December 2008.

The appointments follow the surprise resignation of Pierre Tercier, who will step down as Chairman on 30 June 2008.
