This note considers the scope of preliminary hearings in the employment tribunals. It also explains the procedural rules relating to preliminary hearings set out in the employment tribunals rules of procedure in schedule 1 to the Employment Tribunals (Constitution and Rules of Procedure) Regulations 2013 (SI 2013/1237).
