by PLC Financial Services
Law stated as at 31 Dec 2012
This practice note outlines post-implementation issues arising from the FSA's banking conduct regime, which came into force on 1 November 2009.
In a report published in November 2010, the Financial Services Consumer Panel (FSCP) reviewed the regulatory effectiveness of the new regime one year on and called for the FSA to address issues in a number of areas.
The FSA has expressed ongoing concerns at the "widespread disengagement" with the regime among banks and building societies.
