Legal person (法人)
Under the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China 2020 (with effect from 1 January 2021), a legal person is an organisation that:
- Has the capacity for civil rights and civil conducts.
- Independently enjoys civil rights and assumes civil obligations in accordance with Chinese law.
Investors are most familiar with enterprise legal persons, but other types of legal persons include both government and social organisation legal persons.
