Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP is a business law and litigation firm founded in 1988. The Firm has grown significantly since its founding by eight partners, and is now one of the largest law firms in Southern New England. We are dedicated to providing excellence in legal services and business planning to our local and regional clients in a responsive, efficient and cost-effective manner. We represent privately and publicly held businesses, family-owned businesses, not-for-profit institutions, government agencies, regulated industries, educational institutions and high net worth individuals. We have extensive experience with entrepreneurial organizations from start-up to IPO. Industries served include technology, life sciences, energy, distribution, manufacturing, service, health care, financial, real estate and insurance entities. In addition, the Firm acts as bond counsel to state and local governmental entities. The Firm also provides full litigation and arbitration services.
The Real Estate Group advises clients on real estate conveyancing and title issues, on traditional land use issues such as zoning, subdivision, planned use districts, sales, acquisitions, and leasings, and on real estate development projects. Attorneys in the Group represent clients in all aspects of real estate development projects, including large–scale retail, hotels, offices and commercial and industrial development. Representation includes site acquisition and due diligence issues, governmental permitting, structuring and negotiation of financing, environmental compliance issues and construction contracting issues.
The Group works with municipal and state entities on such matters as the establishment of special port districts and special development districts and also counsels clients in property rights issues, including governmental regulatory taking and condemnation issues. Regarding environmental permitting, attorneys in this group advise applicants on wetlands and sewage disposal regulations, coastal permitting regulations and waterfront property rights issues. Environmental litigation handled by the group has included toxic tort claims, Superfund claims and litigation brought to recover hazardous materials remediation costs. We work closely with financial institutions to advise them on environmental law issues in various situations, including the impact of new environmental regulations and hazardous materials liability and the analysis of environmental assessments to quantify lending risks.
