In JSC BTA Bank v Ablyazov and others [2010] EWHC 2219 (QB), the High Court considered whether it could make an order that, unless the respondents complied with their disclosure obligations under a freezing order, they would be barred from defending a claim, despite their challenge to the court's jurisdiction.
Subsequently, in JSC BTA Bank v Ablyazov [2011] EWHC 1522 (Comm), the court made an order for directions in relation to an application seeking the committal of Mr Ablayazov for contempt of court.
