A Practice Note explaining the social insurance system in China. The Note introduces the five mandatory social insurance funds and explains the difference between those funds and the housing fund. This Note also sets out the employer's and employee's obligations to pay and the process and procedure for payment, together with the legal and practical issues arising at each stage.
