The SEC's Division of Corporation Finance announced that, if a change in its operating status becomes imminent due to the government shutdown, it will consider granting requests for acceleration of registration statements that are then pending.

The SEC's Division of Corporation Finance announced that, if a change in its operating status becomes imminent due to the government shutdown, it will consider granting requests for acceleration of registration statements that are then pending.
On October 4, 2013, the SEC's Division of Corporation Finance announced that, if a change in its operating status becomes imminent due to the government shutdown, it will:
  • Provide as much advance notice as it can.
  • Consider granting requests for acceleration of registration statements that are then pending.
The SEC's Division of Investment Management issued a similar announcement.
The SEC currently remains fully operational despite the government shutdown (see Legal Update, SEC Remains Fully Operational Despite Government Shutdown).
