A Practice Note explaining how to issue and serve a subpoena in a civil action pending in the New Jersey Superior Court, Law Division, Civil Part (including in a Complex Business Litigation action) or in a non-foreclosure action in the Chancery Division, General Equity Part. This Note discusses service requirements, witness fees, production costs, and proving service for subpoenas ad testificandum and subpoenas duces tecum that parties serve during pretrial discovery (discovery subpoenas) and in anticipation of trial (trial subpoenas).
