European Banking Union: overview | Practical Law

An overview of the European Banking Union, which applies to eurozone member states and to other participating EU member states. It consists of a Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), under which the European Central Bank (ECB) performs key supervisory tasks in respect of credit institutions, and a Single Resolution Mechanism (SRM) that applies to all banks in member states participating in the SSM.
