ICO publishes guidance on using social-networking sites | Practical Law

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has published the results of a survey on young peoples' use of social-networking sites which, among other things, reveals that many are unaware of the privacy policies of such sites and post personal details which could be used for the purposes of fraud, such as their dates of birth or home addresses. Announcing the survey results, the ICO also launched a new website aimed at helping young people understand their information rights, and published more general guidance on using social-networking sites safely.
