Foreign-invested telecommunications enterprise (FITE) (外商投资电信企业)

A foreign-invested enterprise (FIE) that holds a licence to operate telecommunications services from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) or a local bureau of communications.
In most cases, an FITE must be established as a Chinese and foreign joint venture. For details of the licensing regime for FITEs, see Practice note, Regulation of telecommunications sector in China.
