An overview of China's regulatory regime on punitive damages that may be awarded in civil intellectual property infringement cases. This Note addresses the scope of application, the conditions and calculation of punitive damages. It also sets out typical cases relating to trade secret misappropriation and trademark infringement in which punitive damages were awarded.
