A Checklist of actions that a party may consider for expediting resolution of a civil case in Massachusetts Superior Court. This Checklist identifies ways to expedite a case, including assessing deadlines, litigating in the Business Litigation Session, requesting a Massachusetts Rule of Civil Procedure 16 or Massachusetts Superior Court Rule 20 conference, moving for a speedy or expedited trial, accelerating or limiting discovery, and bifurcating claims or issues. This Checklist also identifies ways to help obtain the earliest possible trial date and ensure that the court reaches the case on the scheduled trial date and alternative dispute resolution methods to consider for obtaining expeditious resolution of the case.
