A Practice Note discussing the various anti-discrimination laws that govern the residential mortgage lending activities of financial institutions. These anti-discrimination laws, referred to as fair lending laws, include the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and Fair Housing Act (FHA). This Note also discusses types of discrimination and laws that aid agencies in identifying discrimination.
