A Checklist outlining issues for employers to consider when drafting and implementing a paid sick leave policy in compliance with California's Healthy Workplaces, Healthy Families Act, also known as the California Paid Sick Leave Law (PSLL), as amended by S.B. 616, which takes effect on January 1, 2024. This Checklist applies to private employers with employees in California covered by the PSLL. Employers with employees working in certain California municipalities or other jurisdictions with their own paid sick leave laws may impose requirements different from or in addition to the PSLL.
