This Note discusses the different payors for health care services, including public payors (Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), TRICARE, the Indian Health Service, and the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program) and private payors (commercial health plans that offer employer-based coverage and individual coverage).
