A Practice Note discussing the discovery materials counsel should expect to receive in response to a request for the production of documents (RFP) under O.C.G.A. § 9-11-34 when litigating a civil case in a Georgia superior or state court. Specifically, this Note explains when the response is due and what counsel can expect regarding the written responses and objections along with any document production, including the production of electronically stored information (ESI). This Note also explains how counsel can determine whether the producing party provided all relevant information and who is responsible for the costs of production.
