The Pensions Regulator has announced that it intends to consult during autumn 2007 on a code of practice relating to the revised statutory requirements dealing with the internal dispute resolution procedure (IDRP) that schemes must have in place.
The Pensions Act 2007 introduces reasonable periods within which trustees must make IDRP decisions and communicate them to complainants. The consultation will consider what amounts to a "reasonable period" for each stage. For a summary of the Act, see Practice note, Pensions Act 2007: summary of key points.
